Week 1 Thursday
This mornings lecture covered visual rhetoric by looking at examples of traditional and visual rhetoric.
I found today’s class very helpful by thinking outside the box and dig deeper into the topics of inequality in New Zealand. Our studio class started off with us working as tables and mind mapping inequality topics in New Zealand. Our table was given the topic, health and we discussed issues within the system. This is what we came up with.
I was given the words, 'tranquil', 'pig' and 'mask'. I
found this exercise to be very helpful in creating new ideas that could be used
for my final poster. I found some of the words such as tranquil to be quite
challenging but this exercise pushed me to think creatively and outside the
box. It was fun to just draw down random ideas that could potentially work.

For the
rest of studio class, we were given a random word and the exercise required us
to create images and think of ideas to combine the word we were given to our
chosen topic (mine was housing).
